“Loss”

August 9, 2010

Trying my hand at poetry again.

“Loss”

I’m at a loss for words.  The affirmation of a “good word!” no longer brings solace
For there is nothing I can say anymore.
My voice has been silenced.  In it’s place, are these meager marks on a page.
Nothing fancy; nothing catchy.
But pain.  Yes!  There is still plenty of that.
Of course, the knowledge that pain would accompany this was all too apparent.
I suppose it wouldn’t be “loss” if it didn’t hurt.

As these monuments of love continue to topple
One
by
One,
by
One
I watch, in dismay, as the search to land on something solid and real continues.
To find that which was lost.

But do you not know?  Have you not understood?
Looking is in vain as long as you are lost.
You must be found by Him who sees and knows all.
And yet loves.
This love cannot be conquered and will not be toppled.
It will not be lost.
