Another Atrocity in the name of Allah

July 31, 2007

Hey guys, sorry for another sobering post, but I wanted to call any readers to the attention of 20 or so South Korean Christians who are being held hostage by the Taliban.  Two have already been murdered, and they are threatening to kill the others if their demands are not met.  This will actually occur (unless they extend their deadline yet again) at about 10:30 my time (11:30 a.m. for the Eastern Time Zone).  Would you join with me in praying for the ones still alive and their deliverance.  Pray that God will use the testimonies of those already killed to bring revival to Afghanistan and other countries in the Middle East.  Pray that God would soften the hearts of the captors.  Pray for justice to be done in this earth.  Pray for God to haste the day of His Son’s return.

The times are clear.  We are in the evil days that the New Testament speaks of.  Perhaps we have always been, but it seems clear (at least to me) that the amount of violence, murder, and evil in this earth is at an all time high.  The saints job is to pray and intercede.  For whatever reason, God has allowed His church (His saints) to have a tremendous say-so in the spiritual condition of this earth.  May we realize that and wage war in prayer.  Oh! How I long to be a man of prayer!  Let us pray…

“When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?  Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”

-Revelation 6:9-11
